WHAT IS BARF?

Dogs eating habits have formed much earlier before dry food was invented, which mainly serves for convenience of dog owners. If we let dogs choose food themselves, they would choose to eat meat, as an excellent source of much-needed proteins, bones as a source of calcium, and other minerals, as well as various subproducts, such as stomach which is rich in enzymes and minerals.

Dogs are carnivores and their anatomy is tailored to eat such food. Their teeth are created to rip and chew meat, short intestine does not allow meat to decay and extremely strong stomach juices are even capable to digest bones. Dogs which are fed in this way receive all the necessary nutrients, vitamins and trace elements.

So what is BARF?

BARF is an abbreviation of Biologically Appropriate Raw Food or Bones And Raw Food. BARF food philosophy and composition is very simple – it is a balanced food consisting of raw meat, subproducts and bones. Sometimes it may be supplemented with vegetables, yogurt or eggs. It is food which satisfies eating habits of our pets which have been formed over millions of years, living in the wild.

So BARF is the best food to feed your pet.
